Umami Ramen Bistro
In this project, I designed the image on a bar counter for one of the points of the Umami Ramen Bistro restaurant chain.
In the assignment, I was asked to depict a whole plot for the entire surface, and it certainly had to be formed around the main dish of the restaurant - ramen. It was necessary to create a story that would be interesting and noticeable, would hook the viewer, and arouse the desire to go into the bistro.
And here is what the first sketch looked like.
My idea was that the recognizable and beloved characters of Miyazaki cook and eat noodles together. Everyone is busy with their own business - there is even a Kiki who takes delivery orders! :)
The concept was approved immediately, we only slightly changed some details and the position of some characters so that the story could be read more clearly: starting with the preparation of dough and fillings, continuing with cooking on fire and ending with delivery and eating the finished dish.
At first we wanted to add a branded red color for brightness, but in the end we agreed on a black and white version.
